R/C Naval Combat

 The Roanoke is a light cruiser of the Worcester class.  It and the Worcester were the only ships of the class completed.  Laid down in 1945, it was not completed before the war ended.  It is the last of the all gun cruisers, with 12 6" primaries and 22 3" Secondaries, all capable of AA fire.

On a special personal note, my dad was assigned to the Roanoke for two weeks during his basic training in the Navy in 1958.  It was the only ship he was ever stationed on.
