[:)]Hi guys. Well I got the old battery braces stripped out of the hull.2 worn out servos removed from teh radio box. Just need to replace 2 servos and reinstall them. Then I can clean and lube the poppet valves, lube the pump. Think I will remove old faithful drive motor and get a new one from Princess Auto. I need to replace a shaft bearing where the prop is located as it is totally worn out. There is a loud knocking back there when the shaft is turning. Rudder stuffing tubes will be relubed and the rudders will be angled slightly like on the real ship. Foam channelling will be installed in the bow and throughout the hull bottom. The Bow will need repair as there is a gaping finger size hole where the Jackstaff pole used to be. I did receive my new German flags from Modelflags in U.K. So a new ensign staff wil be made and a new Jack staff to hoist the new flags.
Once the internal is completed the main deck will need repair and paint. Looking forward to relaunching the Bis in June. Think I will order new lifeboats too as the ones on the deck are destroyed.

Curt

Okaay. Still researching to get a new motor. I can still use the current old one but prefer to have a new one. I got my new servos and these will be waterproofed using the new techinques.

Curt, I got a pair off of Ebay. You have to use caution because there are some Johnson 950 motors out there that pull a ton of amps. I was lucky and got the right ones. They are becoming harder to find.
There is another place now that I think of it. Google "The Surplus Center". I think they are out of the midwest. They may carry them. If you can't find them, let me know. I can send the link to you when I get home from work.
Thanks,

Tks Gettsburg114th. I checked them out but sadly they don't have them available at this time. I did manage to find another one though here locally and Craig has one of my spares. I think I will be ok on this.

Will you be gutting the entire interior and rebuilding? Or will you just replacing what needs to be replaced.
Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions.

A little more progress here. Work has stopped till the PE is finished it's "OUTFITTING".

Engine room: Drive shaft removed. Motor be prepped for removal.

The main drive shaft...eeeyeeewwwwww..gross man..just gross...

The "SHAFT" is worn at the ends but the middle is still pristine as it was immersed in lubricant to keep the rust away.It worked becuase this shaft was a replacement from the 1999 refit. The original 1993 shaft was worn out.

2 OLD & Busted servos... 18+ years. A very very long service life. We will remember you for your dedicated service to the Bismarck.

They have definately seen better days. Still if 2 servos and a shaft is what needs to be replaced after 18 years then it shows a great construction job.

Revamping Bismarck to new rule format to carry 8 battle units. That will be 2 ships so far. The good thing I can easily convert in seconds to fight ircwcc or MWC style.
