Hey, everyone who made it, thanks for being awesome and great fun.  I was happy that day 2 saw everything work properly on Scharnie.

Mike Mangus' Verite (aka the Veritech) was great! It had a few teething issues but I think several people were impressed with how much kick-butt can be crammed into a PDN... And Mike refined his tactics and I think it's going to be fun in 'the Slot' at Pooler at our May regional. My Scharnhorst had a few teething issues (more than the Veritech) but was ultimately very satisfying to drive and more maneuverable than I had expected (Saturday night rudder change to a longer rudder vice a deeper one). I was running a half a second slow and I didn't feel that I was absolutely slow even relative to the faster ships. WWI boats rule!

I have always thought they were under-rated.
I got a hold of some 1/96 plans for the Lord Nelson. Now if I get some free time...well you understand.

Lord Nelson... in 1:96? Now there's a scary thought. What caliber are those massive secondary batteries allowed, again?

We use the same size guns as the Big Guns groups do. Seemed simpler that way.

The plumbing would be a nightmare to be sure, but awesome if fully implemented.  She is actually a touch bigger than an Espana.

Has anyone heard from the folks down that way?
I just saw that there were some bad storms pass through there.

They are 5 hours south of Baton Rouge. If anything we will get much cleaner water in the pond from the rain. I am glad I take my 4x4 truck to event, the last 2 years sombody got stuck 1 or 2 times.

The battle was great.
The pond is knee deep.
The rabbit swam across the pond once Saturday morning.
The alligator looked fatter on Sunday.

Wut? If you count crossing the island then the rabbit crossed twice. That was KRAZY, it ran right past me. The rabbit was bigger than the gator....

Hahaha

Who is this John with the long mustache?

I've been remiss about uploading a few shots I took.  Mostly beauty shots that will please the proud parents of these boats.

A bit of action.

Peaceful

Thanks, I was using borrowed safety goggles and the glare was horrible. I was just pointing the camera in the general direction of the action and hoping for the best.

I guess I should share my pictures too.  I had to sit out first sortie of the Japan vs. World battle due to a wet rudder servo so I got some real nice action pictures with my phone. The framing is poor on some shots due to a two second delay between pushing the button and the phone actually taking the picture.

Wade uses a dye to tint the water, I think to cut algae growth.

This pond isn't very deep, but it's an artificial pond, no weeds, minimal snakes (I know that's disappointing), so it should be safe for swimming. That said, the weekend of the Brouhaha is mostly battling, with little time for swimming. At least for me. Too much repairing lol.
