| I dunno, NPTF sounds kind of forced to me.
I like Pacific Battle Group, even if you are some 200+ miles from the Pacific.
In regards to laying claim to broad strokes like Pacific the WWCC is Western Warship Combat Club - and there are other clubs in the west. It might be a little misleading though because the Washington Cascade Column guys are technically closer to the Pacific
To be more geographically correct you could be the Columbia River Raiders. | | Running: SMS Derfflinger,
IJN Maru(oiler)
Building: SMS Moltke, Orfey Class DD
Washington Cascade Column : Model Warship Combat in the Northwest

| Columbia River Raiders - I don't really. From an advertisement stand point, it just doesn't really "sound impressive".
Pacific Battle Group. PBG
North Pacific Battle Group NPBG
Pacific Northwest Battle Group. PNBG ---- Perhaps too close to Peanut Butter 'n Gelly? Or am I the only one?
Northwest Battle Group. NBG
I think any of these names would serve us well. There is no right answer here. And they are a LOT better than my TriCities BG (TBG = TBD?) or EWCC (EEWWW?).
Of this entire thread; I like "Pacific Battle Group" and "Northwest Battle Group" the best.
Of those two I like Pacific Battle Group better. It just 'breathes cool'. My only concern is if it is too over indulgent; but Nick has a good point... Western Warship CC is used, and no one cares or even really thinks about it...
Northwest Battle Group is a good second choice, but everything around here is "northwest this" and "northwest that". It just doesn't stand out; however it is more geographically accurate.
Greg? I think we have about all the good names we are going to get... Anything stand out to you that I missed? Which do you like the best? What shall we be called for the rest of eternity?

| Western Warship happens to be the biggest and oldest on the west coast, excepting Queens Own, who contain the core members of the NASWCA that WWCC split from and may be considered roughly the same age. There wasn't anyone to challenge us on the name at the time.
You could go with Inland Empire Warships of the Western Washington (IEWWW). Pigdog Battle Group (PDBG) isn't bad either. Too Lazy to Drive Far North Pacific Combat Club (NPCC). North Pacific Squadron (NorPacRon). Columbia-Pacific Raiders might work. Actually Columbia River Raiders is pretty good. Edit: I started writing, stopped and continued surfing, then came back and posted without checking for anything new. I also like the sound of NBG. Anything with both P and B has at least a small chance of being mistaken for a sandwich. Can I vote for both CRR and NBG?

| There are generally two elements to a club name: the location and the other part. The location tells where you are, such as Columbia Basin, Columbia River, Pacific Northwest, Northwest, Tricities, Eastern Washington, Inland Empire, etc. The other part provides a description: battle group, combat club, raiders, task force, task group, squadron, cascade column, pond jumpers, flotsam, warships, attack group, attack force, etc. List out all possibilities for each category (including all possible variations) then try combining them in different ways until you find one you like. Task Group of Inland Fighters (TGIF)? Walla Walla Combat Club (after the state vegetable, the Walla Walla Sweet Onion)? Steelhead Squadron (after the state fish, the steelhead trout)? Eastern Washington Warships (EWW)? Lets make a list of all the possibilities for each category. PBG is pretty close to PBJ. I like WAG, and CRR, but NBG is my favorite so far. | | | |
