My HMS Iron Duke made her debut at the 2010 MWC Nationals last week in Houston. Did fairly well for a new ship. Had a couple of teething issues Monday morning, but after that she settled in, chewed up Axis hull skins and took home the Best of Class 5 trophy.

And here are a few more from Friday after the final fleet battle. She looks a bit rugged after a week of combat, but she held her own quite well and stayed on top of the water the whole time.

Anyways, she's built pretty standard aside from the battery. Modified BC Iron Duke Hull, Strike Models Regulator (140psi fixed), 6oz CO2 bottle, 6v 3/32 orifice KIP solenoids, Parker pres-lok fittings and tubing for the mains, clippard hose & fittings for the solenoid-gun connections. Radio box has a standard MAG throttle & 15amp pump switch. Team Delta board for fire control and a Spektrum receiver. Receiver is powered off the main bus using a Castle Creations 10a BEC set to 5.5v. No problems with brownouts at all using it. LiFePO4 batteries (2 20 amp cells in series for 6.4v). Deans noodle wire. Stinger motor on a Chris Pearce pump. Dave Ranier pump outlet. Guns are also by Chris Pearce. Traxxas gear boxes to drive 1.5" 4 blade Prop-Shop props (lost the starboard screw monday morning thanks to a bad brazed joint...replacement to happen soon). 44t gear on the rudder servo from Servo City, standard traxxas gears on the rudders themselves. Traxxas waterproof servo to move em. She's a solid little boat.

yep. Not sure how much difference it makes in our scale, but I pulled that design from a commercial full scale series.
