| | 27 May 2009 12:46 PM | | I'm working off memory here, so I might get this wrong. He had a single stern gun in the PoW, at 100 rounds. A and B turret each had a 75 round gun which could be moved by hand. They started off as sidemounts, but by the end of the battle, he had both of them set up as bow guns. Personally, I think they'd have been more effective as sidemounts, but Phil likes bow and stern guns. Can't fault anyone for battling their boat how they want to.
I'm sure on the number of guns (3) but not as positive on the amount of units he had for each gun. No more then 75 are allowed per "sidemount" but he could have more in the stern gun.
If I were setting one up for treaty, I'd go with 75 round sides in A and B turret and twin 50 round sterns in Y turret.
Not sure about the internal layout, I know he was running a 12v system though with some new, very efficient 12v 550 motors that he and Mikey Deskin found. That all being said, I have to say I was surprised by how well the PoW turned. I'm not sure what he did with his props/rudder to get that kind of performance, but if you built one and armed it with quad sterns for IRCWCC/MWC and got it to turn as well as Phil's, you'd lay down some major pain. | | | HMS Invincible

So If I rotate the stern turret and have bow guns I can mount very effective and devestating firepower. Tks. | | | |
