What ship fired the most shells of greater than 8" during the landings and in the following week or so of naval bombardment?

(hint, there are a couple in our fleets)

I do not know, but I would guess it is an older U.S. battleship.

Yes, she was British.  She had 15" guns. But she was not the Warspite.

Was it one of the monitors, HMS Roberts or similar?

HMS Roberts fired over 600 15" shells in support of the landings and in the next week.  With a draft on only about 10 feet, she was able to move within a couple of miles of the shallow sand beaches and drop her 15" shells up to 18 miles inland.

Interesting. Wikipedia (correctness unknown) asserts that the HMS Ramillies fired over a thousand 15inch shells.
