I find the ideal of rc ships trying to sink each other a great idea, and I think it is about time I move up from balsa wood aircraft. My question is: is there a group of any kind (BG, SG, Treaty) in alaska? If there is, please post information about it.

Welcome to the forum, and the hobby.
I am not aware of any clubs up in Alaska.
But you could always start one.

Hi! You've been doing planes, so you must have some woodworking skills and tools. What tools do you have?

The bare basics, a hobby knife set, dope, a good supply of balsa in different lengths and thicknesses, all kinds a sand paper, with belt sander, dremel tool with bits, and a lot of spare time on my hands.

Hi crzy, I remember a couple years ago there were a few people trying to start a Big Gun club up in Alaska. You'll want to inquire on the Big Gun Yahoo Group for their info:

There are 101 different types of people: those who understand binary, those who don't, and those who just can't count...
