HiI have a question on sub const.. I understand that i f you use co2 to blow ballast, then you can have 25% increase in the dimension of the beam of your vessel.  Is this true?  Also, anyone out there have a working spurt gun who is willing to trade for detailed plans of M2 British submarine 1/44 scale.

IRC rules only allow for an extra pound of weight for Class 2 and below. Good luck with the construction!

I am not sure that I am following you here.
But are you talking about the rule allowing ships class 2 and below (that use CO2) to have an additional 25% added to the displacement (or ship's weight)?
If so..
The rule is referring to class 2 and below ships that use CO2 to shoot the cannons. Perhaps an old rule from the days of freon, that never got changed (as I think all ships have to use CO2 now).
Anyhow. To make a long story even longer..
The small ships were allowed to have an additional 25% added to their maximum weight allowed. And there was mention of adding hull height (I think),(as the ship would sit lower in the water).

For CO2 in a sub here is my list for my I-400:
Palmer Rock the boat Regulator
Small 12 or 16 gram CO2 cylinders
Manifold in 2 saddle tanks (on either side of my Battery room etc
that connects 2 tanks together.
One servo controlling 2 poppit valves
push one way and co2 blows into tanks (open at bottom)
push other way and tanks vent to top of ship.
hope that helps

hope that works and helps a little

Sounds workable, contact Bob Pottle at NABS, he had a working or almost working I-400.

yes, that rule seems to be left over from the old set.

I believe Bryan's sub is Bob's old I-400.

The pictures above are from Bobs old submarine, I have it now, he will be using

a similar system in his new Submarines though, so it is a good system that

allows static diving and surfacing.  If you get shot you will start to LIST and this can then

be considered a sink so you can go get the sub or drive it back (dont dive) with the LIST.

Well yu can still always dive. Just don't hold your breath if the sub does not come back up :-)
Just when you think you know the answers, I change the questions.
