ehh... he didn't post 'this topic is over' so... I guess we should just continue talking about cars! I have an '81, '96, & '99 vette myself. The 96 looks the best, the 99 drives the best, and the 81 is just a hole in the earth where I pour my money.
Cheers,
jks

THREE!!!!!  wow I just turned 3 shades of green with envy. I always said if I had to have one it would be a 59. There is no way I am going to afford that and make Nats this year so I am safe. I also am amazed how much model boat technology carries over to real life. I scotch-coated my wife's horn wires that were in her wheel well so they wouldn't corrode! I also fixed a ripped speaker with silkspan and goop!

Boy, Sounds like what I was doing with my Chargers. I had a '73 SE and a '74 SE. Turned down the chance to buy a '75. (It just did NOT look like a charger!)
I was out looking for a '71 and '72 when I made the mistake of getting married.
That ended my car collecting.

That wife WAS a VERY BIG mistake.

Current wife is a different story. Current wife supports me in my hobbies! The first wife was against any hobby I had. If only I could have met and married the second wife first.

Getting back to topic:
Have you looked at the Digital Navy or the Steal Navy web sites?
I believe that they have plans for the USS Arizona.

I would actually like to build a "unbulged" arizona.  6 casements down the side could make it a real contender against WW1 axis. If those plans are spotted, please let me know. I can't use the modern plans because I have to take 1-1/4 out of the beam.

IIRC underwater tubes as built non after the refit. I don't have plans handy but on the Florida's the tubes were a bit forward of the first turret.

www.navsource.org/archives/01/0138026.jpg

From Navsource it shows torpedo rooms just forward A turret and aft of D Turret.

www.navsource.org/archives/01/013901h.jpg

Also shows the forward one.

www.navsource.org/archives/01/013958d.jpg

Shows the aft one.

Aft to port, foreward to starboard. Interesting lay out but I guess it would reduce flooding.

Now then, how to install that in our scale....
But then, is it worth it for just one shot?

I thought the typical set up for them were 2 aft torpedos one to port on to starboard, 2 foreward one port one starboard.

Is it worth it for one shot?  Well I would think if you can perfect the ability to prevent leaks from the tubes then maybe.  But I would think it is too much of a pain. If your big gun your not gaining much considering you have 14" cannons to play with as well.

All the sources I have seen say she just had 2 tubes. The photos you posted show one per side.

Is it worth it? You have a one shot surprise sting. Game winner? Probably not.
