Bismarck update.: Motor mounted. I have a new motor on order. The Johnson HC970. High Torque. This is what Bismarck originally used. 10 days to arrive so I will use this motor for now if it works.

I picked up a new recevior battery 4 large cells each cell 3600mahr 1.2 v ea. I use these packs all the time with success. I can run 8 hrs no problem on a single pack and with heavy use using all servos it's good for a day of hard battling. These are Nimd packs.

I got new extension wiring harnesses and will be installing them so that I can make the receivor modular for now. Bismarck is going to run off my Spectrum radio or my Futaba 2.4GHZ

The Radio Box needs to be gutted and cleaned up. New switches for throttle, new pump switch, new servos and pnuematics will go in and the box will be sealed.

I am off next Fri Sat and Sun, so I hope I can squeeze time in to get the model finished and back in action.

I am arming Bismarck for Capital Warship Combat set up as a 8 unit ship with 7 cannons and 1 pump. Set up will be dual sterns D turret, Dual stern sidemoutns C turret- dual port sidemount B turret and single bow cannnon 60 degree sbtd from bow centerline for sniping effectively.1 large pump BC pump.

When I get home I can give you the exact sizes. I haven't taken them out of the package yet. I got new ones for Bismarck, including the Admirals Flag . I will post them this evening.

The Flags I got are the German Naval Ensign 1933-1945 Length - D - 50mm Ref D51. It's 2 in long and 1.25 in wide. The Naval Jack or German Haken kruz is B - 25mm long ref D50 1933-1945 . This Flag is 1 in long and 0.75 in wide.
The next flag is the German Admirals Flag. Ref D62 lenth AA-15m. This Flag is 0.75 long and 6/8ths wide. It's larger than it should be but Hey I want the Admirals Flag to be seen.
I got these from Model Flags. These guys are located in the U.K. Great service and great products.

Need to install RF noise suppresion capacitors. I will be installing screen mesh over the motor openinst to keep debris and bbs out of the motor can. Prop installed. Lots of power and smooth running.

I took some pics yesterday but haven't had time to post them. The camera also has been going back and forth to the GF as her camera is away for repairs.
Update. The Armor is installed and secured. The main deck is puttied and dry right now. I just finished final sanding on the forward and aft hatches that conatain the barbettes. The radio box is completly stripped and .. ugly.

Hope to get more work done on it later. Bismarck is shaping up again.Wish I could say the same for me... where did this belly come from?

Ok so now that I got a new motor exactly the same as the original that powered Bismarck back in 1993. The motor that's in it now is going to come out.
I got new throttle switches. I picke up 4x8 sheet of 1/4 in Sintra to build the new radio box. The forward and rear hatches have been resanded smooth, cleaned up the barbettes. Now to apply the Auto Putty over the surfaces of the hatches and the barbettes.

The Valves are going to be replaced with new Pneumatics, hoses mavs ect. Bismarck will be new inside out.
