Hi John,
Is the Washington Peter's NC? Good to see you'll be on the water this year.

Off topic, but I'm trying to get enough info on the hypothetical G3 1921 battlecruisers to make a hull mold. Can you check your copy of Raven and Roberts 'British Battleships of WWII' and see if they had external bulges or not. If I remember correctly there's only a copy of a painting printed in the book, no drawings or plans. I'm finding conflicting sources on whether they were bulged.

If the G3 doesn't pan out I'm going to do a QE hull with accurate bulges or HMS Agincourt.

Thanks,
Bob

Bob: I found the line drawings and plans for the G3, You can borrow the book if you wish and copy what you need. The design of the ship and the lines show no buldges on it. Interesting looking ship.
The washington is the old one that Rob Clarke had, she is now 80%.
If you want to call me I can drop off the book at your place during the week.

Thanks John,
I found photos of a superb 1/96 model of the G3 and it doesn't have bulges either. That makes it a much easier hull to build than Hood which is almost exactly the same size in 1/144. The G3 design is similar to Vanguard, except for being longer, having the hull sides sloped outward a few degrees, and lacking the bow sheer.

Can you email me your phone number? I'm around for the entire week starting Friday (on call).

Bob

ETA is done when done, and not a moment sooner. I have other projects now that have to be moved up ( insert nirple here ) and i'm not battling til she is 100% so another week or two maybe.

won't be on it for a while test results on wed. Work is nuts now and free time is not as easy to come by, getting harder to do sanding and body work even with a mask, no air in the lungs = tired all the time - many naps and no energy. I am doing what i can, but i am slowing down.
THIS SUCKS!!!!

John,
I hope today's test results are favourable. If you need help completing the NC refit or converting Shinano to Treaty stats let me know. I can build the Shinano's mutiple bow and stern guns for you.

Hang in there John. The models are a great way to keep you going through the rough patches.
