A fast-gun I-boat doesn't need more than a fast-gun Z-boat, the support materials are the same. The extra battery weighs more, but it's like 5 pounds more.
Battling: SMS Scharnhorst, SMS Baden Building: HMS KGV (Drives, pumps water, guns are in but not plumbed) MN Edgar Quinet (Hull done) Drydock/Mothballed: Rus Evstafi, DKM Lutzow, HMS Invincible Plus 20-odd other projects, according to my Boy Scouts who thoughtfully counted them for me.

Well, the plans have come in today , and the first three keels have been marked out. With any luck I'll get them cut out tonight and get a start on the ribs.

I should mention that working with aircraft grade plywood is definitely ridiculously better than the home depot scrap I'm used to making things out of. Wish I'd started using this ages ago.

Agreed. Aircraft grade ply is far better than anything from Home Depot, Lowes, or even a lumber yard. I would go as far to say that the model aircraft plywood is better than the full size aircraft grade plywood. The model stuff has more plys.
