Wow, gorgeous casemates! I am very pleased with the progress so far. The plans are Japanese, very detailed and only partially translated, but easilly workable. Can't wait to start putting equipment inside!
Post 1937 reconstruction, but before the 1943 addition of the rear flight deck. Really a waste of 2 useful surface units, but there was a lot of that going around...

From a modeling perspective the BB/CV variants are teh kewlest. From a war winning stand point, they were a waste of resources for the IJN.
I think they are the prettiest of the ww1 era ships after reconstruction. The grouping of the casemate guns amidships has good hard area and the slight length increase over Fuso is offset by a slight beam increase as well. They'll never turn with a QE or ID, but a haymaker on each side means you probably won't have to. Just don't get lured into a turning fight, keep the fight in the fore/reverse realm.
