I clipped computer paper to the deck rim and ran a pencil around the inner edge to show the shape of the deck. I'll white glue this to the 1/8" plywood for the deck and cut it along the line. I posted pictures of the process. It looks like this will work out very well.

One nice thing about the way I cut the decks out is that it left me enough wood to complete the decks for the IJN Suzuya cruiser I have hanging on the wall in the shop. > More meds.
