I really appreciate the help folks. You have to keep in mind that I am really computer challenged, and almost always get out of the starting gate late. It's a learning curve thing. I also don't have the amount of spare time that is needed to stay on top of things on the net now-a-days.

Hey, that looks good! What will the setup be?

I figured out the problem with your pictures Mikey - its your filenames, you have quotes (single in this case) in them.

That confuses the javascript when the page is created as they don't get properly escaped, so when you try to click on the image, the JS barfs.

Basically this is the link it attempts to follow, the problem here is in JS uses single quotes to delimit strings, so it only gets half of the string ('/Portals/0/Users/Froggy/Feb2009Mike'sHMSHood') and the rest it considers erroneous input.

The short and non techno-babble answer: dont put single quotes in your filenames and things will work fine.

As to the set-up question.
This will be my first attempt at building a truly Treaty warship. All of my previous ships were carried over from either small-gun, or big-gun formats.
That being said.

She will have two stringers. One at the upper edge of the 7" belt armor, and one at the upper edge of the 12" belt.
I am still doing some research into just where they need to end.

For the shafts. I will be placing the inner shafs in the scale locations. The outer shafts will be slightly toed-in at the prop ends in order to reduce the chances of damage in the case of ship-to-ship contact. They will not be powered.

I will only carry enough battery for one sortie, so that I can place some lead weight in the bottom of the hull, in order to help her stability.

She will carry a one-unit battlecruiser pump (1 gpm).
So she will have 5 units for cannons.
That is where I am still somewhat un-decided.
I really prefer to have my cannons mounted in the front of my ships, so that I can chase my opponants.
But as I will have her set up in her 1941 configuration, and she will be running 29 knots (31 seconds), I will as often as not be dealing with a Bismarck that will not only be faster then me, but will also be able to out-turn me, and have more pumping capacity. There is also a pretty good chance that the captain of the big German will be looking to re-create the outcome of the historic encounter between out two ships. So I would be crazy to not have some cannons mounted aft.
I need to find some sort of happy middle ground in my cannon placement, where I can defend my stern, on the one hand, and yet still chase down targets when the opportunity presents itself.

I'd look at sort of "X" layout for the Hood. She isn't going to be much of a turner, so getting bow and stern guns to bear is probably going to be an issue. Sometimes accepting the weaknesses of a ship and what it DOESN'T do well goes a long way to making less then "perfect" ships dangerous.

So, I'd look seriously at a 75rd side off one side in X turret and another in "Y" both angled back about 45 degrees. These will be the primary ship killers; you should be hitting solidly with them while any forward mounted sides in an enemy battleship will be boucing off your deck due to the enormously low amount of freeboard back there.

Up front in A and B turret would be 50 rounders on either side angled forward about 30-35 degrees with a little range on them to use as your chaseguns

how did you do your rangefinder on your turrets? I have the same hull and turets but havent figured how to do the rangefinders.

The rangefinders on the turrets are pre-made, and came with a set of turrets. They are really nice. I have to admit though, that I do not actually know who made them, or who I got them from. I also only have three of them. So when I do find out where they came from, I will be ordering some more.
Perhaps someone on this list will know how to obtain some.
