Your right it is about personal preference. I can go either way on this. I like both versions actually. Work will resume Tomorrow.

Finally!!! The weather was favourable to conduct resining the shafts, and the subdeck, maindeck , rudder posts to the VDT. What a mess but at least it's done. Now to clean up the Resin droppings and smooth it out. Once I get that done the barbette and access hatches need to be marked and cut out. Then were on our way to getting this project completed. Sheesh I am sooo far behind. I have to replan my projects to getting VDT completed, finish Bismarck's refit then I can start my RC submarine project. With Luck I might be able to get Konig started.

FINALLY!! I forced myself to take advantage of warm weather after work and I got down to buisness. I sanded the VDT deck and hull for a couple of hours removing the blobs and resin droppings infestations over the hull . I was dust white afterward but the hull is back to normal looking. Now to clean it up and cut out the hatches.

School's just ending for me, one more final left. I too will start working on my boat again. Good luck

The main deck has a second coat of resin and the gaps that were not filled from the first coat are now sealed. Perfect. I got most of the dimples out and managed to level out the 2nd coat spread. I hope to get the deck buffed with a light sanding to smooth it out more then I can trace out the deck hathces and barbette mount openings. Once I get this done VDT internals will be installed. After this Bismarck will be worked on.

Finally finished cleaning up the hull of excess resin drops and crap. Next step is to mark out barbette locations and hatch locations.

Sanded and primed the main deck today. Then I resin with a thin coat over the deck. Just needs final sand to smooth it out. The stepped section was finally addressed with a section of sintra going across the stepdown and I sealed the gap between the back side of the Sintra and the hull. Worked out great. Just need to sand it level and flat. Almost ready for the next step. Cutting out hatches and barbette mounts.

I sealed the gap of the step down and attached a section of styrene as a bulkhead for the step down. This will be sanded down level to the foredeck and sanded down on the sides to smooth it out.

The sintra deck has the gaps sealed with putty and resin. I layed 2 thin coats of resin over it after the deck was sanded to smoothit out. I then spread a thin layer of putty over the entire topside, sanding it smooth afterward and applied a light coat of resin. Just need to polish it down and smooth it out. Once done I can apply a light coat of primer grey and when dry will begin marking out the hatches and barbettes for cutting.

I have the deck painted primer today so that I can begin marking out the barbette and deck hatch cut outs. Worked on the stepdeck section of the superstructrure. Fits pretty good. Beginning to move forward on this project.
