I saw the Troopship Olympic in the latest ScuttleButt Newsletter.  I was wondering if anyone knew who the captain is. I'm currently building the HMHS britannic and had a couple of questions.

Thank you

And here I am....

The builder's name is...

Bill G. from IRCWCC

We built that and the Saratoga as a Nats convoy project two years ago. He doesn't visit the lists too often as he has been busy with other things but I was in on the build and may be able to answer some questions.

Nice pic Rob, looks good.I Still think that convoys should get a half unit pump, and remove the convoy restrictions on attackers and defenders, but it didnt seem that there was a lot of agreement on that isea.

I was wondering if the builder went with a single center prop, or the two outside props.  I was also wondering how the ship was weighted as the ship as a whole is top heavy, thus pron to wind easly.

Here is where I'm at:

On his ship, he hand made the ribs and stuff. I remember us cramming weights to get the ship right. I think he went with the weight concentrated towards the middle like a sailboat keel and low. That keeps the ship bobbing and tends to right itself. The decks were made out of foam, Nothing else, just foam with maybe a thin piece of wood on the bottom, very light. There is two outside ones and he used the center as the drag one
