H'okay guys,

if you have any articles ready please start sending them in, if you sent one in last time and it wasn't published (i think i have at least one) please remind me of the title of it just in case i miss it..... also, if you want to publish something please start writing it....and it'd be helpful if you let me know. In addition, feel free to write whatever you want! It doesn't have to be a battle report, it can be a story you want to tell, or an idea you were wondering what other people thought of.... this is EVERYONES newsletter so do what you want with it!

I liked your idea about telling historic stories. I think you should take an article every month from wiki about an obscure battle or warship.

OO! OO! ME! ME!

Got an interesting boat-gets-killed story that doesn't involve combat, but interesting nonetheless. I even have pictures!
Battling: SMS Scharnhorst, SMS Baden Building: HMS KGV (Drives, pumps water, guns are in but not plumbed) MN Edgar Quinet (Hull done) Drydock/Mothballed: Rus Evstafi, DKM Lutzow, HMS Invincible Plus 20-odd other projects, according to my Boy Scouts who thoughtfully counted them for me.

schweet. just email them to scuttblebutt@rcnavalcombat.com

Anyone want to volunteer for the history column? if not i can try to dig up stuff but i'm sure others would be much better at coming up with it than i would.

I doubt I will have time with the move and all. However, I would recommend just picking a boat or a battle from wiki & rewriting it (or not, it is "public domain")

Let me write this one and see how it goes. If it's good, then I'll do another. If everybody thinks I write like a Navy tech manual, then I won't :)

When's the due date? I'm currently writing something on the tactics used during the WWCC's campaign battle. I'd also like some time to edit the other stuff I wrote.

Article is DONE, dude. 5 pages, with a few pics. I have my father checking it out for me right now to make sure it sounds okay (he's really good at that), and I'll send it in. Sorry it's so long, but it's an interesting story. The title is: "The Death of a Cruiser".

Format? What format?

Seriously, though, what's the format?

oh, just new styling for the newsletter.... a bit more colorful. thats all i'm going to say.... you'll see it soon enough.

On a side note, i'm not going to do anything special for this article, i'll probably just insert it.... but if you want to continue writing like a column ... especially if you have a feeling most of them will be at least one page long, i'll make up a special format for you.

Kenny, it is in our scuttlebutt email. I think it would work fine in your format. It just can't be a "side column" it would be a couple of pages. I don't think Tuggy would mind if you reformatted it and spruced it up with photos and other visual aids.

I have more photos if that's an issue; I was trying to keep it short :)

Oh, and I changed the final paragraph slightly, I'm emailing it to you guys now.

Now to think of something for November...

update - turns out the email account hasn't properly been working for me all summer, it said i was in it and i could mess around in it but it never showed me new messages... finally figured it out tonight and replied to all of them... however still a problem, the last shown email was August 6th, therefore i'm still missing tuggy's.

For the history column you would want something like a short history of a ship or class of ships? A bit busy to get one in for Oct, though I could try something for the next one.

sounds great J!

Its completely up to you what its about, could be about a battle, a ship, a new weapon, a tactic, whatever floats your boat!
