| I would like to for 2 reasons but this whole graduate school thing has me too busy to work on anything else, much less trek to Ohio. Still working on a USS Ward. | | | I am prepared to meet my maker, whether He is prepared for the ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

| Phil and I were discussing having a battle this year, even if it were just two or three boats. I suppose the good thing about having the battle this year is that we would at least say that we had a Battlestations battle in 2009. On the other hand. If we hold off till next year, what are the chances of more folks attending, and having ships ready to battle. What are your thoughts on this?? Mikey | | | |

| Mikey and I talked a bit about a battle this year or next year during the last Treaty Conference. Based on that conversation, I decided to slip the Jean Bart down the build list and bump the Emile Bertin to the top. The idea is to get a Battlestations ship built quickly to have a battle next Spring. The EB is a smaller build and can be outfitted with common fast gun BB cannons which I already have on hand.
So, you can count on at least one more battle ready ship by the Spring.

| It looks like we will put off having a small battle this year. I am hoping to get back to work on my ships after the middle of Oct, so I should be in good shape for a battle next season. Mikey | | | |

| Mike M, what about a small battle between destroyers/lt cruisers at a Region 3 battle next year, maybe during the lunch break on Saturday? (Assuming that neither of us is furiously repairing his 1/144 ship...)
Or, everybody who can make the MWC Nats bring a 1/96 ship and we do a battle on Wednesday?
Or both? | | | |

| I like that idea, Clark. Sailing 1/96 between battles would be fun. Speaking of 1/96 scale ... there is a 1/96 scale ship modeling club here in North Carolina. Not combat, but scale oriented. They are having a float in on Oct 10th and 11th. I'm going to drop by one of those days and check it out. Also, the state pond they use is supposedly perfect for model ships. It's all concrete, well over 300 feet in size, and 3' deep. I'm going to check on that too. | | Mike Mangus

| Mike, if your first 1/96 ship is to be a PDN, maybe we can have 1/96 PDNs meet at a Region 3 battle next year for a showdown | | | |

| Sounds like a plan! I went back and looked at the plans and rib sections again after work today ... and found a couple rib sections that I messed up on. They are fixed now. Tomorrow, my furniture shipment from South Korea arrives. In it is a scroll saw. Guess what I will be doing this coming weekend? | | Mike Mangus
