DelftShip is a software program that some people on this site use to model hulls. There is a free version, but I don't really understand how to use it. Here is the website: http://www.delftship.net/

Hey Duckie,

I just got some 6" wide balsa from National Balsa online. They had pretty good prices and a large selection. I also got my 1/32" aircraft ply from them for doing the Battlestations Baltimore hull.

I don't see many PDN's on the list.  I'd think something like good ole' USS Illinois BB-7 would be fun with those four 3/16" guns and  fourteen .177 secondary's.  It also gets 1/8" armor.

The real winner for me are those tandem stacks that will confuse novice captains as to which way the ship is going.

I should have the Charlemagne class listed by my name, so atleast I have one in the works. I was originally going to do the Glorious, but decided to put that off so I could do something a little bit more portable, since at this time I will have to travel a long distance to any battle. It'll have four 7/32" cannons, 1/8" armour and maybe 4 torpedo tubes (two on either side).

Steve and Chase,

Two fine examples of the glorious Predreadnought! I have always had a fondness for the Illinois class.

I was thinking of the Henry IV but her primary and secondary armament is a bit lacking.

I foresee secondary's playing a prominent roll in BS so I dug a little further in.  The Connecticut class, though she doesn't quite have a 12" belt to get the 1/8" armor allowance, to make up for that, she has a secondary and tertiary battery of eight 8" and twelve 7" guns.  As I read the BS rules, this would give this boat a potential broadside of ten 3/16" guns.  The 12" mains get her an additional four 7/32" guns.

I'd sight the secondary's at some point several feet away and fire them all at once.  For close-in work, they could be depressed to 20 degrees (in-mass) for some underwater lovin.  The mains could also be sighted to that distant spot (port and starboard) using preprogrammed rotate points.

The way we fight these ships makes Predreadnoughts deadly. They may be eggshells armed with hammers, but what a hammer.

Oh and for that class, Louisiana in white and buff please.

Very nice choice. If I were to ever consider another American ship it would definitely be one of the pre dreads in white & buff.

All
I am hoping to get my Strasbourg finished and battle-ready for this season. I don't know if I can have her ready in April, but it might be possible.
Better chance by May.
Vance has decided that he wants to build a submarine in this scale, and we are putting that on a front burner.
I do not think that we could have it on the water before June or so. But we plan to get started asap.
So Strasbourg could battle on either team, and a U.S. submarine this year.
I can't wait.

We did some horsetrading with Dustin, and the Mogador is ours again. So we are fitting her out for Vance until we can get his sub going.
Probably guns only for the time being. But we anticipate having her battle-ready by July or so.
She sure looks good sitting next to the Strasbourg.

Cool!

But could you get Vance to use a non-French ship?

I will be building the HMS Gustav V as soon as I finish my current Treaty project. I seriously thought about doing a Courbet for the number of secondaries (22 total) combined with the twelve primaries.
Treaty:
IJN Kirishima (Stricken)
FNS Volta (on hold)
FNS Alsace (under construction)
DKM Ludendorff [O-Class BC] (planned)

Battlestations:
FNS Mogador (Striken)
HMS Gustav V (Order placed)

Big Gun:
FNS Richelieu (Stricken)
