All

The 2011 Treaty conference is scheduled on the weekend of August 19-21 at the Xenia, Ohio battle site.

At some point during the event, we will be re-enacting the battle of the Denmark Straits.

More than likely sometime Saturday afternoon.

This will be a multi-format event with the Battlestations group.

So the two formats will be taking turns battling sorties.

Roll Call!

Who is going to make it with which ships?

Mike M
Richelieu
Verite
Erin

Although I did mention I would try to get the Gascogne ready for the conference, I have to conceed that there is too much work and too little time to get it done. Instead, the Richelieu will make an appearance after a two year hiatus. The Verite will be on hand as a loaner boat and to finally test the provisional PDN sidemount rule. And of course, the Erin will be available as a backup boat just in case something catastrophic happens to the Richelieu.

Nikki, why would I be kidding? Strike Models is our business, and it is what Stephen does full time. He tries to go to two or three events at the regional or national level a year.

Up-date

At this time the Treaty list looks something like this.

Allies
South Dakota (Buddy), South Carolina (Stephen), Hood (Vance), Glorious (Mikey), Roanoke (Mark), San Francisco (Ray), Liberty ship (Scott), and Nikki's LST.

Axis
Bismarck (Roland), Markgraf (Eric), Von Der Tann (Josh), P-cruiser (Matt), and Lutzow (Ben).

Non-aligned
Richelieu (Mike M.), Montcalm (Phill), and Le Terrible (Dustin).

Secondary ships
Erin and Verite (Mike M.), Dayton (Matt), Emile Bertin (Phill).

At some point during the event, we will be re-enacting our Denmark Straits battle.
Most likely sometime Saturday afternoon. Probably late afternoon, after the second fleet battle.
Roland will be running his Bismarck. Phill will have his Prince of Wales. And I will have the Hood, and
Prinz Eugen.

The Battlestations group will also be there and will definately be running their boats around on sea trials
and plan to do some battles as well. Although the battles will most likely be after Friday.

The battlestations ships.

Allies
USS New Jersey (Matt).

Non-aligned
Tashkent (Phill), Mogador (Dustin), and Strasbourg (Mikey).

Matt will probably bring his Scharnhorst along. But it doesn't look like it will be battle-ready.

We have heard from several folks that are considering attending the event.
Some have Treaty boats. Others don't have boats of any format.

The battlestations folks have invited the big-gunners to fight with them as they will all be
shooting the same ammo, and the rules are fairly similar.

I will try to keep the captains list up-dated.

For Treaty.
It currently looks like all of the non-aligned ships will be fighting on the axis team.

For battlestations.
It looks like the Frenchies may be taking on the world fleet.

Notes: Washington Treaty Combat's Conference event.
Three days. August 19 through Aug 21 2011

Spectators welcome.

Street: 1880 Turner Rd.
City State Zip: Xenia, Ohio 45385
Phone: (937)620-6053

As for the hotels we have several options. First is at a rate of $42 (plus tax) per night:
Knights Inn - Xenia
38 S. Allison Avenue
Xenia, Ohio 45385
(937)352-0067

Second at a rate of $49.95 (plus tax) per night:
Regency Inn
600 Little Main Street.
Xenia, Ohio 45385
(937)372-9954

Which ever hotel you choose, tell them you're with the boat group. If you choose the Regency Inn, tell them you want a ground floor, it's a small hotel. The rooms have a refrigerator and a microwave. It also has a continental breakfast, I'm not sure with the Knights Inn (they have the equiptment but no mention when I was there). The rooms at the Knights Inn did not have a fridge or a microwave and they were a little light on the wall outlets to plug in your chargers. Both hotels are about 7.5 miles to the pond (per Google maps). These 2 are about the closest to the lake that are not $90 per night or a longer drive.

Camping nearby.

I know what you meant Nikki.
I had just been reading the thread in the photos section yesterday where you posted that you thought it would be a
bad idea to allow any of the new folks to run any of the Denmark Straits boats during that battle, because it was just
too important.
So your post kinda tickled me.

Oh. Well in that case, I feel more comfortable about the thought of it.
I think.
But don't get your hopes up.
I am pretty sure that you would do just fine.
But Roland would probably never forgive me.
After all. He lost the battle last year.
And he is probably planning on extracting some revenge.
