Hello,

   I am new to the hobby of rc naval combat and am trying to build my first ship (the USS Brooklyn). It has been sitting in my father’s closet for around eight years, so he gave it to me to build. Hopefully I will be able to complete it and see what this hobby is all about.

Welcome aboard!

What rule set are you planning to build to, MWC/IRCWCC/Fast Gun or WWCC/Big Gun? Either way, you've got plenty of willing souls to give you some tips; when I was hull-shopping, I heard a lot of good about the Brooklyn kit. You'll probably be able to connect with some of the guys on this forum in your local area, too, which is a double blessing.

Good luck with your build! Can't wait to see it!
