Hate to rain on the parade but the Hood is probably a worse choice than the Alaska, especially for a rookie. A Lion would be good or an I-Boat if you can get find a swampy hull that someone has.

There's also the Ralph Coles Indefatigable. I think it's a better hull then the swampy Invincible (thicker, roomier, still short with dual rudders)

Let me think about it.

NC - You need a strong back, turns well, has 24 second speed, exceeds the magic 700 ft lenght for the MWC rules, so different gun setups can be used also, if you are willing to try them.

SD - Little shorter than a NC, does not meet the 700 ft rules, so it has 26 sec speed, and you will need to go with the standard gun setup. 1 port, 1 star, 3 sterns. But turns very well.

Now you have to decide what is right for you. Myself, if my back allowed it, would be the NC, just because of the different gun setup allowed, which I have never seen anyone use myself. They have all been the same as the SD.

[:)]Is this part of the rotating gun setup rule or something entirely new? When was that changed?

Not sure when it was changed Curt, before my time, which was not that long ago, this Nov will only be the end of my second year in the hobby. This is a MWC rule for ships over 720 ft, so if you made one of the longer ships like a Renoun or Hood, at least it could be shooting back at them with twin side guns, before the other ship turned away and sterned you.

The 3 ships I see this really helping out is the NC, Littorio, and Scharnhorst if someone was going to do it. The Littorio and Scharny I think the most of all. With 2 guns to the side, will be able to do that little bit more damage to compensate for the poor turning. The sooned you call five the sooner your off the water with these 2 targets.
Its better to give than to receive. Southeast Attack Squadron

take a look at www.battlersconnection.com and take a look in the catalog - combat ships - and stay in battleship or battle cruiser area.

I am a habitual poster and proud of it, for a time, i was going to be the first admiral without a ship (ironic, i know). And yes, please, we could use more axis in the NETF, im feeling kind of lonely.
