Oh, come on you guys, don't fight about baseball on this forum! Fight about it on the pond! Whoever is still afloat at the end was right, and whoever goes swimming was wrong. It's simple [:D]

Baseball is not a sport, any more than NASCAR is a sport.

Anything where the players spend a significant amount of time standing still is not a sport. For an example of a non-sport other than baseball, see the wikipedia entry on fishing, speed-eating, or opera.

A real sport would be like football (known in the Colonies as soccer), or rugby, or the mayan ballgame.

Baseball... psh! (If the losing players begin to be sacrificed in a grand post-game spectacle to appease the rain god uitzilopchutli, I will drop everything and watch at least one game.) (At least the last inning and the post-game show.)

Alligator resettling, or alligator wrestling? :)

Or, as it's referred to by the rednecks 'southrun gentlemen'... 'gator wrasslin'!

Gator wrasslin' is ALWAYS in season :)

Alright, as an idea, I am thinking that if i end up doing an Alaska, it will have 1 full pump, 2 stern guns, and one bow sidemount on each side. how does that sound?

It sounds like too many units :) Alaska is 4.5 units, so you'd need to drop a gun, or run pumpless :)

Yea Tug, i figured that out after i wrote it, and when i went back to change it, you had already corrected me. Most likely, i would run 1 pump, 2 bow sidemounts and a 1.5 unit cannon in the stern. Thank you. and any news on the alaska, or LST yet?

*the mistake was in the ship list on the IRCWCC website, which listed it as 5 units, and was corrected by your website, then a double check in the constructions rules on the IRCWCC website. Still, i can wait to get my own Alaska, $175 you say? when will they be available?

[:)]Under COMBAT-X format the Alaska class will be able to mount 6.5 units where it falls in the range of >35,000FLD-<39,999FLD. With this we should see more of these underused ships in the hobby be more competitive.

Can't wait to try it out.

Tug, in the IRCWCC where he lives, Alaska is 5 units.

That said if I were still battling IRCWCC and was setting up an Alaska for there, it'd have dual sides in A and B turret and a pump. She won't turn well enough to really use the stern guns effectively so I wouldn't bother with them.

I ran my Courageous in the IRCWCC which is nearly as long as an Alaska and I had dual sterns on there, and I almost never got to use them. It was more then a little bit frustrating, considering I only had one other gun to use...

You could do one bow and one stern sidemounts, rotating even(though at my skill level, i wouldnt attempt it) to cover both sides, seperatly I think.
