Why a Destroyer? It is a very complicated build. Why not some cruiser variant? | | Cheers,
jks

 | | 23 May 2008 02:36 PM | | I haven't built a ship yet (Missouri & Emile Bertin in process) but I have yet to see anyone say a destroyer is easy. Although it may seem that a smaller ship may be easier and cheaper to build, it's the space constraints that make powering and arming one very difficult. If you are considering a cruiser, have you seen this thread yet??
http://www.rcnavalcombat.com/rcnavalcombat/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1289
I know the thread is getting pretty long, but if you skip all the dialog between everyone whilst deciding which ship to do, (ultimatly decided on the French cruiser Emile Bertin around page 7 or 8), there is some good stuff there, as well as a full set of Cad drawings. It is still a work in progress, but there are a few guys (myself included) preparing a to do a "test build" to begin working out the details, so help on the exact ship you are working on, should you decide to do this one, would be easy to come by, and the entire purpose of the project is to help the rookie builders like you and I. Check it out. | | | |

 | | 24 May 2008 06:00 AM | | it's for Big Gun. destroyers would be the fastest but smallest. this light cruiser is bigger and longer hand has three times the amount of guns on it. | | | |
