But since it sounds like you want to run NiMh a 6V 10Ah pack would work pretty well for you. I think that would save you somewhere close to a pound and give you more juice. If you want to save more weight you could always go for smaller cells but I dont know what the weights for those would be like. | | | |

I'm not sure where guys get them, but you could probably google the batteries and do some price comparisons, then post what you find and see if anyone has had bad experiences with that brand of battery.
I'm interested myself as I am looking at putting NiHMs into my Salt Lake City and my Belleau Wood. if I like them, I just might look at replacing the SLAs in my battlecruisers with NiHMs as well. | | | HMS Invincible

Building your own packs is fairly easy but I'd still reccomend buying them depending on how good at soldering you are. 7.2V packs are easy to get since thats what a lot of model car guys use. If you want better weight/balance maybe go with running two ~3000ah packs at the same time so you can put them where you want/need the weight. | | | |
