 | | 14 Jun 2008 09:46 PM | | Hey, folks. I was reading on another forum when I heard about the free hull-modeling software, Delftship: http://www.delftship.net/
I have just downloaded the free version, and so far it looks pretty powerful. Apparently in the full version, you can model stability, internal components, flooding, and lots of other things. So if anyone is out there wondering how they're going to generate more rib sections for their next wooden ship, here's how to do it.

 | | 09 Oct 2008 03:55 AM | | I just downloaded the program. Veeerrryyy interesting. The tutorial is a lesson on how to use a jpg of the hull lines to recreate that hull in delftship, like by putting dots on the drawing and having the program draw a fair line between them. Slick. After the battle this weekend, I may try a ship to see if I can get more usable plans from those we have. Some people have asked for pre-generated frames like webwookie made for the destroyer project. | | | |

 | | 23 Jun 2009 08:09 AM | | The software was created by people at a University in Delft (wherever that is), maybe the creators have moved on, or sold the software to someone else who isn't working on it at the moment. Subcaptian, I looked, but I think I deleted the installer after installing | | | |

The software was created by people at a University in Delft (wherever that is),
Delft is in the Netherlands.
