i know industrial silicone wafers are heated to over 1100 celcius without deformation

that's impressive. I'll have to call Smooth-On and see what their silicon deforms at (with a reasonable wall thickness). But 1100C is plenty good for aluminum casting.

yes silicon has a melting point of around 1400 celcius approx 2580 farenheit. in semiconductor construction typical oven temps are 1100 C for doping the silicon. i would assume you may be able to go as high as 1300 C before you have significant deformation on a decent mold.

semiconductor wafers are 200um thick like 3 hairs or something rediculously small
