I've got that book & can't find the photo in question. Canberra's damage is noted in text. The only 2 photos of her are post-conversion to a CAG, then back to a CA. Regardless, though, consider the purpose of the structure. It's not a box, to enclose something; it's basically a beam, & should be expected to be about as thick as the rudder. JM | | | |
