Is anyone using electronic valves to fire their guns? I've looked through clippards selection, and it a bit too expensive to buy a bunch and play with them. I'm hoping someone else has done that for me.

For the most part in Fast Guns, clippard valves are rated too low. Our pressure is 150psi. There are other solinoids out there which do work, Kips are most commonly used.

The Clippard Mouse series valves cannot handle the 150 psi pressures we use for very long. But, they will handle less than 100 psi and can be used to actuate air piloted valves for the cannon air.

Clippard makes a stronger electric solenoid valve that a few people use. I have them in my Richelieu. The downside is they are 12 volt only and do not operate well on 6 volts. My Richelieu has a 12 volt battery just for the 12 volt Clippards.

You can get 6 volt coils for the KIPS! Been using them for years. (Maybe they quit making them ;>O ) I haven't had to buy any for at least 5 years.

It looks like KIPS is still around:

Can you still see your model number?

The 6v Kips are a special order, BC buys them in larger qty's, to get a lower price.
Its better to give than to receive. Southeast Attack Squadron

I'm going to start a new thread on solenoids with a good subject... smack me if I do that again.
