When you pick which predread to mold, try to choose one that would be good in Big Gun, as well. Mikasa would be ideal, at 36" length and two pairs of 12" guns, but I'm already building her. Just about any other predread of similar size, with guns 11" or larger and armor 6" or thicker would be great. Just don't go too much bigger than the Mikasa or it'll lose its appeal compared to early dreadnoughts, or too much smaller or it'll be impossible to build in Big Gun.

Not MWC, she is too old. The cut off date is 1905. She is fine for Treaty though.

I think Steve Andrews is using a Mikasa as a radio box in his new Vanguard!

It seems kinda strange to me that Fast Gun clubs would exclude every ship that fought in the only decisive battleship fleet action of the 20th century.  Then again, I'm not in a Fast Gun club, so why should I complain?  I'm sure there are other predreadnoughts that would work just fine.  I just need to dig them up out of my handy-dandy Predreadnought Stats Spreadsheet:

I've brought up the issue the last two years when people start talking about rules changes in the IRCWCC, and there seems to be no interest whatsoever in changing the dates of ships allowed. It was even commented that there are plenty of ships nobody has ever built already in the shiplist. I would be happy if instead of relying on launch dates, we could build ships that were in commision between 1905-1946.

I don't understand it either. There is a strong WW2 bias, which I suspect is due to the easier access to plans of the Second world war vintage than to those of the first and earlier.
